God’s Strength is Always Available
Devotional Contributor: Nick Dadas
Scripture:
Psalm 68:28 “Summon your power, God; show us your strength, our God, as you have done before.”
Observation:
David is praying to God, thanking Him for victories, and asking Him for his power in the future. We have the same ability David did in preparing for battles, but in our everyday life.
As a Father of 3 boys 5 and under, I want nothing more than to see my boys succeed. In many ways my wife and I do many things seen and unseen to give them the power, confidence, and skills to prepare for the various battles they will encounter. As our boys grow up and become self reliant, I can also think of nothing more joyous than to be able to provide the strength they may need, when they need it. Just as joyous as this would be for me, the same is true for my Heavenly Father. When we pray for strength, God gives it. He isn’t going to let any of us fall or be crushed under the weight of our troubles.
Application:
In last weeks devotion we learned about how King Asa became self reliant vs. God reliant. A simple way to tap into the strength God can provide is to simply pray and ask for God’s strength. It will be there. When looking at your calendar and the week ahead, pray for your meetings, the people in them, and watch what God’s strength show up. When you know you are heading into a tough situation, whether that be a tough conversation or a tough workout, ask God for help. Remember that with God all things are possible.
Request:
Dear God, I pray for the ISI community and the battles ahead. Please help us all stay connected to you, relying and trusting in your strength vs. going at it alone. We know that you are always there for us, and will provide the strength we need in any situation.
